MARATHA DEEP

Keel Marine Ltd completed Supervision of the installation of two new Deck Cranes on the transhipper vessel 'Maratha Deep' in Goa.

Primary Services provided included Structural Analysis and Design, On-Site Supervision and Technical Support.

Load tests were successfully completed ready for the up-graded vessel to return to operations on schedule at the end of the Monsoon Season.

BELU- PASSIVE DEBRIS COLLECTOR

The Passive Debris Collector (PDC) designed by Keel Marine for Belu was successfully completed and is moored between the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye. It is anticipated that the PDC will collect up to 40 tons of floating litter each year. The PDC was designed in co-operation with London based architects and the Port of London Authority. The craft was built at ET Marine, with Keel Marine supervising the build. PDC will be operated by The Port of London Authority.

LAND & WATER OLYMPIC HOPPERS

The design of a new class of hopper barge developed to operate on inland waterways specifically within the London area.

The hoppers are primarily to be used for transporting waste from various sites around the city to bespoke recycling facilities.

Completion of construction & supervision in Japan of a series of five 90,000 DWT bulk carriers. Vessel 4 "RTM Twarra" and vessel 5 "RTM Gladstone" were successfully delivered and are now in service carrying Bauxite from Australia to China.

IMR SHELL JAPAN

Continuous through life steelwork and coating refurbishment on fleet of 7 LNG Gas Carriers. Surveys carried out on passage followed by preparation of re-fit specification. Subsequent attendance at dry-dock for supervision of steelworks and coatings. 3 Vessels dry-docked this year.

Design Review and verification of a new ferry port facility for Rossaveal Harbour, Ireland. The facility comprised of three identical pontoons each with a dedicated pedestrian link span

SAFLE & JIM EVANS ASSOCIATES BIG ARTS PROJECT CARDIGAN

Technical design and support of the Channel 4 Big Arts Project entry for Cardigan in West Wales. The design entitled ‘Turbulence’ has been prepared by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer and consists of a light and sound piece of installation art in the tideway. The project has been supported since early 2008 and has involved site visits and public meetings.

F.P.S.O. Curlew Life Extension. STASCO on-site rep for monitoring steelwork modifications and coatings in Ballast Tanks and Cargo Tanks. Upgrade was carried out at Blohm & Voss, Hamburg, to give the vessel a further 10 years of operation in the N. Sea without docking.

The design of a removable pedestal under Lloyds approval to allow the fixing of a 25 tm crane to the deck of the R.R.S. James Cook utilising the existing matrix of deck sockets as securing points.

Marine input in contracting, monitoring and managing Nuclear Submarine dismantling projects in N.W. Russia for the UK and Norwegian governments. November Class submarine (No. #291) is now in interim storage at the Saida Bay facility. All of the units delivered to Saida Bay this year are single compartment units, the picture showing the UK and Norwegian funded units.

AMEC projects have included the successful transportation of Echo Class submarine (No. 542) to Nerpa shipyard using the SPP-200 pontoons and the continued removal and processing of buoyancy polystyrene from submarine ballast tanks.
